Lucky Lloyd

Lucky Lloyd Wright was born July 12, 1955 in a little town called Hamtramick, Michigan at St. Francis Hospital. He grew up in Detroit, Michigan about 4 miles from Hitsville, better known as Motown. There he was introduced to a style of music called the Blues. At the age of 9 years old, Lloyd started playing guitar. The first band he played with, The Blackstones, won a talent show at Northern High School in Detroit, Michigan. Soon came performances in many of the local nightclubs in Detroit and the surrounding areas and that's where the legendary ascension of "Lucky Lloyd" to the top of Blues History began.

On October 27, 1987, Lucky Lloyd moved to Los Angeles, California. In Los Angeles, "Lucky Lloyd" started playing in various bands and playing at Jam sessions to keep his skills perfected for what was going to be a Legend in the making. Soon Lucky Lloyd decided to go solo and form his own band. This was a turning point in his career. As a result of this change, Lucky Lloyd has been discovered by a production company, The Los Angeles Blues and Jazz Project, and is now heavily involved in writing, playing and recording his own material.

Lucky Lloyd has been involved in promotion and touring as far as New Zealand, Australia and across the United States.

Lloyd attributes his style of music to the influences of Albert King, whom he resembles, Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Albert Collins and Santana.

His live performances are energized and exciting. While entertaining, he roams into the audience with his guitar screaming, delighting his fans.

Lucky Lloyd is truly a legend in the making!

Lucky Lloyd's debut CD entitled "The First Time" consists of 7 Blues Songs that have been reviewed as being some of the most soulful and true to life Blues songs released by a new Blues Recording Artist.

His second CD, "Back Bone Blues", features 9 original songs detailing Lucky's life and feelings. He is currently working on his third CD, which is due out sometime in 2005.
